General Notes: Husband - John W. McCullough


He was educated principally in the old Mercer Academy, his teacher being D. B. Cook. He was reared on a farm, and at the age of eighteen years he began clerking in a store. He was elected a justice of the peace eight terms, was county poor director in 1860, and was one term burgess of Mercer. His wife was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church. He was a Republican.
