General Notes: Husband - Thomas B. Roberts


He was permitted to attend the schools common to his day and locality up to the time he was sixteen years of age. At the age of eighteen years, he engaged in the lumber business, operating for the Erie Railroad, when that line was first constructed. He was a heavy shipper of live stock to New York City and Chicago and shipped thousands of head of stock.
He was a Republican in politics, and in church faith a Methodist Episcopal.
In 1884 he was elected as a member of the Pennsylvania legislature; he also served as a member of the school board, constable and justice of the peace, at different times.

Her father was a farmer and blacksmith of Sugar Grove Township, Mercer County, Pennsylvania.
