General Notes: Husband - James E. McCoy

He lived four years with his uncle before he was married, and after marriage went to Richland County, Ohio, where he settled sixteen miles northeast of Mansfield, and engaged in farming three years. He then bought a farm in Hanover township, Beaver County, Pennsylvania, and remained there until 1881. He later owned the old homestead and had 230 acres. [HBC 1888, 866]

He was born in the house in which he later lived, in Monaca, Beaver County, Pennsylvania. For a time he lived in Richland County, Ohio, then returned to Beaver County, and lived there continuously after 1881. He was the owner of a farm of two hundred and seventy-six acres, and at one time also conducted a repair shop in connection with his farming operations. The McCoy family were always supporters of Republican principles, and Mr. McCoy was no exception to this rule in early days. Later he affiliated with the Prohibition party, and then was independent in his political views. Like his forefathers he was of the United Presbyterian denomination, and was a member and elder in the Mount Olivet Presbyterian Church. [GPHBC, 1058]

Notes: Marriage

They were second cousins.
