General Notes: Husband - Abraham Pry

His father died when he was but four years of age, and he was left to struggle through the perplexities of boyhood unaided, but he secured an education by dint of perseverance and energy. He learned the cooper's trade in early life, but did not continue to follow it, and when about twenty-two years of age came to Washington County, Pennsylvania, settling on 150 acres in Cross Creek township.
He was originally a Democrat, then a Whig, finally uniting with the Republican party. He attended the Cross Creek Presbyterian Church, contributing liberally to its maintenance.
