General Notes: Husband - W. Edward McClung


He spent his boyhood on his father's farm and was educated at West Sunbury, Pennsylvania, Academy. In 1885 he came to Butler and engaged in the grocery business until 1889, at which time he became interested in the oil business as a producer and oil drill contractor. In 1902 Mr. McClung became identified with the Oil Well Supply Company of Butler as manager of the shipping department, and he was also manufacturing agent for oil supplies for many years. In 1912 he entered the automobile supply business in that city and established his place of business on East Cunningham Street. Beginning in 1922 he was located at 231 South Main Street, where he carries on an extensive wholesale and retail trade in automobile accessories and radios.
He was a Republican and from 1916 until 1920 served as registrar and recorder of Butler County. He was a member of the Methodist Church, was a thirty-second degree Mason, and belonged to the Shrine of Pittsburgh, the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Elks Lodge, and United Commercial Travelers.
