After engaging in farming for some time he was employed as cashier in the First National Bank of East Palestine, Ohio, where he continued his responsible duties until his death. He was one of the most prominent business men of East Palestine and one of the leading bankers of Ohio. His counsel and advice were sought by many persons seeking information on important business affairs.
