General Notes: Husband - M. M. McClelland


He was raised on a farm and was engaged in farming almost all his life. He owned 345 acres of land, constituting one of the finest farms in Washington Township, Greene County, Pennsylvania. He was elected to the office of county auditor in 1856 and served the term of three years. In 1868 he was elected county commissioner, and served three years. He served multiple terms as justice of the peace of Washington Township, having at different times filled almost all the township offices. He was a member of the Masonic order for twenty years. His wife was a faithful member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church.
