General Notes: Husband - J. C. McClelland

He was born in Cecil township, Washington County, Pennsylvania, and when eight years of age came with his parents to North Strabane township. He attended Jefferson College, and being the eldest son, became his father's principal assistant in business.
After marriage, he and his wife settled near Cambridge, Ohio. After the death of his wife, he moved with his family to a home in Peters township, Washington County, Pennsylvania. He did an extensive business in general farming, and kept a fine grade of stock. His place contained 160 acres of the finest land, underlaid with a rich vein of coal. Politically he affiliated with the Democratic party, of which he was a valued member, and in religious faith he supported the Presbyterian Church.
