General Notes: Husband - Hon. Moses McClean


He practiced law in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, for half a century. He was a member of Congress in the twenty-ninth session-1845-47. In 1855, the time of the Know-nothing party excitement, he was induced by the conservative element to become a candidate and serve a term in the State Legislature. He was a member of Congress when war was declared against Mexico.
