He was educated in the public schools of Greenville, Grove City College and at Thiel College, read medicine with Dr. L. H. Henry, of Kennard, and graduated at West Penn Medical College, Pittsburg, in March, 1892. He began practice at Coraopolis, but in May, 1892, located at Anandale, Butler county. He was a Democrat in politics, and was a member of Pleasant Valley Presbyterian church.
