General Notes: Husband - John Morgan

He was born and reared on the farm adjoining the home where he later resided, receiving his education in the schools of Chartiers township, Washington County, Pennsylvania, and assisting in improving the farm.
He married and they located on his farm in 1860. It contained 129 acres of well-cultivated land, upon which two good residences had been built; he owned considerable stock, and carried on general farming. He was interested in the success of the Democratic party, with which he was identified, and he and his wife were members of the U. P. Church in Chartiers township.
