General Notes: Husband - Elijah McDowell

He was reared in Pike township, Clearfield County, Pennsylvania, from the age of two years, and was indebted to its public-school system for the educational privileges he enjoyed. Farming was his life work. He was trained in that industry during his boyhood, and after attaining years of maturity he followed the same pursuit. He came to Bradford township in 1859, purchasing a farm, to which he removed his family.
