General Notes: Husband - Charles Franklin Marker

He was educated in the public schools and when a boy began working in his father's store, beginning thus early a mercantile life, to which business he remained faithful through his life. In 1873, on coming of age, he became a partner in the firm of Marker & Son. December 3, 1896, the store caught fire and was entirely destroyed. Shortly after this he formed a partnership with his cousin, Denny C. Marker, and when the store was rebuilt it opened under the name of Marker & Marker. Mr. Marker assisted in organizing the First National Bank of Ligonier, and was one of the board of directors. Politically he was a Democrat. He was a member of the Royal Arcanum, No. 501, of Ligonier.
