General Notes: Husband - Henry Clay Marchand


He was admitted to the bar in 1840, became a partner with his brother, Albert G., and this relationship continued until the death of his brother in 1848, after which he practiced alone until the admission to the bar of John A., son of Albert G., in 1864, at which time a partnership was formed which continued until his death. Henry Clay Marchand was one of the most distinguished lawyers of the Westmoreland bar. He served as first sergeant in the Westmoreland Guards during the Mexican war, the company being recruited in Greensburg.
