General Notes: Husband - William C. Bailey

---

He was reared on his father's farm, where he was trained to habits of industry and economy. He received his education in the common schools of his native township, and was successfully engaged in farming until 1885. In that year he was nominated for county commissioner by the republicans, and was elected by a very respectable majority. At the end of his term of office, in 1887, he received a re-nomination from his party and an increased majority over the previous election. In politics Mr. Bailey was always a republican. In religious belief he was a presbyterian, and was a member and trustee of his church of that denomination in Manor township. He was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, and the Junior Order of United American Mechanics.
