General Notes: Husband - [Father] Mansfield

Mansfield is the name of a parish in county Nottingham, England, the abode of the family of Mansfield in the time of King Henry II. It is said, however, that some English families of this name are derived from a German source.
The name has existed from an early time in New England. The family under consideration here is of later origin, and its history, as recorded in family tradition, is that three brothers came to America.
