General Notes: Husband - James McElhaney

He was born a short distance north of Jamestown, Pennsylvania, in Crawford County. Soon after their marriage he and his wife settled in Greene Township, Mercer County, one and one-half miles west of Jamestown. They reared a family of three sons and three daughters.
The family adhered to the United Presbyterian faith.

General Notes: Wife - Margaret Mahan

Her parents emigrated from Ireland to Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, and thence to Mercer County about 1800, locating some three miles southeast of Jamestown. Her father served from Mercer County in the War of 1812, and both her parents died on the old homestead, leaving a large family. In 1888 only two children of their family survived, a son and a daughter, residing in Crawford County.
