General Notes: Husband - Adam Stroup


He moved with his parents to the wilderness area of central Pennsylvania before 1770. In 1772, the area where they lived was organized into Northumberland County. They lived in Penns township of that county in the settlement called Heilburn, today called Freeburg, in Snyder County. During the American Revolution, he enlisted as a private in Captain Charles Myer's Company known as the Rangers of the Frontier. In 1780, he had enlisted in the Second Pennsylvania Battalion commanded by Col. Steart. He returned to Penns township after the war, where he lived until about 1797 when he moved to Patton township, Mifflin County, Pennsylvania. In 1801, the area where he lived became Ferguson township, Centre County. He lived there the rest of his life; he had a farm of thee hundred acres in Ferguson township when he died in 1814. General Notes: Wife - Eva [Unk]


Her maiden name may have been Moyer.

After her husband's death, she remained in Ferguson township, Centre County, Pennsylvania, until 1819, when she moved with her children to Rockland township, Venango County. She received a state pension for her husband's military service between June 1836 and November 1843.
