General Notes: Wife - Nora Lynn

She was quite involved in church work and while so occupied she met the famous evangelist of the Protestant church, Billy Sunday. Well known to the American public of the early 1900's, especially during the 20's, as Billy Graham would be to the American public of the 1970's and 80's, Billy Sunday was quite taken with this young country girl, her wit and strong faith, pleasant personality. He asked her to join his group, and she would work as a housekeeper and organizer (agent) for several years. During this time the two of them became very close and a special bond developed between them. Nora, taken with a quick illness, died. Billy Sunday was quite taken back. The famous American Evangelist accompanied her remains to Venango County, Pennsylvania, giving a special memorial service for her in the Lutheran Church at Lamberton. It was remembered by those that attended, that Billy Sunday never at any moment turned his back on young Nora, but always faced her. And upon leaving the church, walked backwards towards the door.
