General Notes: Husband - Joseph Lyle


He was born on his father's farm in Mt. Pleasant Township, Washington County, Pennsylvania. His life was an agricultural one, he having inherited a part of the paternal estate. In his early years of maturity he was a Whig, but later identified himself with the Republican party. He served his township in public offices, being supervisor and school director, and he was also a worthy member and liberal supporter of the Presbyterian Church.
