Margaret J. Lusher, Robert T. Urey Wed In Church on Sunday
In the quiet of Sunday afternoon, at the Grace Evangelical Church on Parker Avenue, Miss Margaret Jean Lusher, of Rocky Grove, and Robert T. Urey, son of Mr. and Mrs. F. R. Urey, of Franklin, were united in marriage by the Rev. Paul R. Servey.
In addition to the red and blue asters in the chancel vases, decorations included a large white basket of white gladioli, brightened by red snapdragons and blue delphinium.
"The Bridal Chorus" from Lohengrin by Wagner was played by John Wolozyn, while the bridal party proceeded to the altar. The background music for the service was played by Bruno Wolozyn, who used an original composition for the occasion.
The bride was given in marriage by her mother, Mrs. Mildred K. Lusher, and the couple was attended by Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Rogers, of 19 Gilfillan Street.
The bride wore an ensemble of blue and white printed sheer crepe and blue hat, with lace-edged veil. Her shoulder bouquet was of white roses and baby's breath.
Mrs. Rogers wore a street length dress of a blending shade of green silk jersey, with white accessories.
Mrs. Lusher and Mrs. Urey, mothers of the bride and groom, wore blue and white. Their flowers and Mrs. Rogers' were talisman roses.
All wedding traditions were carried out, the bride wearing a gold and coral pin, for something old, a blue bordered handkerchief for somehting borrowed and blue; a gold coin in her shoe for good luck and with the service occurring at 12:35, the hand of the clock was going up.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the new Mr. and Mrs. Urey received the guests before the altar. Later in the afternoon, the bridal party and members of the bridegroom's family were entertained at dinner by Mrs. Urey and Mrs. Lusher at the Urey home.
Mr. and Mrs. Urey have begun home making at 606 Liberty st.
Both Mr. and Mrs. Urey are graduates of Rocky Grove High School, class of 1941. Mr. Urey is employed at the Joy Manufacturing Company plant and for the past 10 months, Mrs. Urey has been employed in the editorial department of the News-Herald Printing company.
