Mrs. Hattie Beckett Sherwood
Mrs. Hattie Beckett Sherwood, mother of Mrs. Martha Beckett Fox of 811 East Washington street, died in the Southside hospital, Youngstown, Friday at 1 a. m. Mrs. Sherwood resided with her daughter here.
Mrs. Sherwood was born in Clearfield county, 1867. She was a member of the Westminster church of Youngstown, O., and the auxiliary to B. of L. E.
Surviving are her husband, Louis Sherwood, and the following children; Mauntie Beckett of Youngstown, O., and Mrs. Martha Beckett Fox, this city, with whom she made her home; sisters: Mrs. Myron Noel of Oil City, Mrs. Alice Noble, Erie, and Mrs. Jack Payne, Oil City; three grandchildren, Forrest Beckett of Youngtown, Robert Fox of this city now serving in New Guinea and Beverly Fox, this city; and one great-grandson, Billy Beckett of Youngstown.
Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Shriver & Allison funeral home, Youngstown. Interment will be Monday at Mt. Collins cemetery, Tionesta, Pa.
Friends will be received at the funeral home this evening from 7 to 9 o'clock.

MRS. HATTIE B. SHERWOOD
Mrs. Hattie Beckett Sherwood, 78, wife of Louis E. Sherwood, of 811 E. Washington Street, New Castle, Pa., and well known as a former resident of Tionesta, died at 12:01 a. m., Friday, April 20, 1945, at the Youngstown, Ohio, Hospital.
She was the daughter of the late Philip and Sarah Smith Lusher. She was twice married and with her first husband, the late Samuel T. Beckett, made her home for many years at Endeavor. Following his retirement from active work by the Wheeler & Dusenbury Company they removed to Tionesta and resided for a number of years in their home on West Bridge Street, which she later sold to Mr. and Mrs. H. D. Wagner. Until her marriage with Mr. Sherwood she had been making her home in Youngstown, O.
Surviving are her husband; a son, M. W. Beckett of Youngstown, O.; a daughter, Mrs. Glenn Fox, of New Castle; three grandchildren; a great grandchild; and three sisters, Mrs. Alice Noel and Mrs. Jack Payne of Oil City, and Mrs. Elizabeth Noble of Erie.
A funeral service in her memory was held at 2 p. m. Sunday at the Shriver-Allison funeral home, in Youngstown. Interment was in Mt. Collins cemetery, Tionesta, Monday forenoon.
