General Notes: Husband - Jacob Preston Lupher


He graduated from Allegheny College, and enlisted from Minnesota for service in the Union army, meeting his death at the battle of Pea Ridge, Missouri, his first engagement. [sic] The Battle of Pea Ridge (also known as the Battle of Elkhorn Tavern) was fought on March 6-8, 1862, at Pea Ridge in northwest Arkansas, near Garfield.

He was enlisted in an Illinois Regiment under the command of General Lyons.
