He learned the bookbinding trade, and with the exception of six months at the Carlisle Indian Training School as clerk, and eight years at his trade in Altoona, Pennsylvania, he spent all his life in Carlisle, Cumberland County. He carried on bookbinding on West Pomfret street, Carlisle.
