General Notes: Wife - Alice Eleanor Bagg

Alice Eleanor Bagg obtained her education in the little school house in the valley in her home village and her high school education at Cherry Creek, N.Y. After taking two years studies in home making at a State Normal School at Buffalo, N.Y. she proceeded to put her learning into practice by marrying Raymond Ray at eight o'clock Saturday evening, June 21, 1830. They had a home wedding after which a four course wedding supper was served under a tent which they had erected on the lawn.
They built a house in Conewango Valley where Raymond assisted in the work of the E.A. Bagg store and mill. In 1937 he took over the operating of the hardware store and sold the mill formerly owned by his father-in-law E.A. Bagg. He was Justice of the Peace for several years and was active in the Church and Community activities and in 1952 he sold the store and engaged in the insurance business with his office in Cherry Creek.
After the death of Cora M. Bagg Alice and Raymond took the little boy she had been raising into their home and finally adopted him as their son.
Alice and Raymond gave of their best service to the Methodist Church at Conewango Valley which is a very small Church and hard to keep going.
