General Notes: Husband - David S. Loucks

He was born on the homestead in Scottdale, Pennsylvania, and received his education in the public schools. He remained at home until 1880, when he moved to German township, Fayette County, where he engaged in farming and later in the dairy business, establishing a creamery which he conducted for some three years. He remained in Fayette County until 1900 and then settled in Scottdale, removing the following year to a farm which thereafter was his home. The property was situated one mile west of Scottdale and consisted of ninety acres, which he devoted to the purposes of general farming. He made a specialty of the dairy, keeping fifteen cows. Since the organization of the Iron Company of America, of Roanoke, Virginia, he was a stockholder and director in that body and became treasurer also. He was a stockholder in the cutlery works of Scottdale. He and his family were members of the Mennonite church.
