General Notes: Husband - George Knox Pollock

He grew to manhood at the family homestead and attended the public school held in a log school house not far distant from his home. He continued at home, his father's assistant until the latter's death, then bought out the other heirs and became sole owner of the homestead and two hundred acres of fertile land. He bought and sold property at various times, and at times owned much more, but eventually owned about two hundred acres, largely under cultivation. His long and busy life was spent at the farm on which he was born, engaged in general farming operations, although he later retired from active labor, in favor of his son Robert H. In 1869 he replaced the stone house built by his father with another residence, the third erected on the land during the century the land was owned in the family.
He was a Republican in politics, served as school director and supervisor, and was a member of the Presbyterian church. [GPHAV, 729]
