General Notes: Husband - Samuel Long


He was a native of Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, and first settled in Mercer County about 1805-06. In a few years he returned to Westmoreland County, learned the blacksmith trade, and returned to Mercer County and located in what is now Hempfield Township, where he followed farming and blacksmithing until his death. He was a member of the Seceder Church, a soldier in the War of 1812, and voted the Republican ticket.
