General Notes: Husband - Paul Wilmot Neely

He was born on his father's farm in Richland township, Clarion County, Pennsylvania. He received his early education in the public schools of his native county and at the academy at West Freedom, Pennsylvania, and then taught school in Clarion County for three terms. He then became interested in the oil industry and went to work first as a teamster and later as a pumper, and eventually purchased oil wells of his own, and was actively engaged as an operator and producer in the oil business. On April 1, 1903, he established a general store in Perryville, Clarion County, which he conducted until the autumn of 1911, when he disposed of the business and thereafter devoted his time to his oil interests. He resided in Pollock, Perry township, Clarion County. He was a Methodist in religion and was a member of the Knights of the Maccabees. [GPHAV, 751]
