After marriage he and his wife settled on a farm, where they had 108 acres of fertile and well improved land. Mr. Line was a member of the Evangelical Association, his wife being a member of the First Presbyterian Church at Carlisle. He was earnestly devoted to the cause of literature and education, and was a member of the "Pansy" class of the Chautauqua Literary and Scientific Circle. In politics he was a Republican, with strong temperance principles.
