General Notes: Husband - Rev. Jacob Lindley


He was born in a block-house, the resort for protection against the Indians of the white settlers of the region. He was educated at Princeton College, and early in his ministerial life removed to Athens, Ohio, and took active part in the building and establishment of the Ohio University at that place, of which he held the presidency for over twenty-five years.
