General Notes: Husband - Allen N. Work

He was born near the site of New Florence, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, and in 1804, came with the family to the old Work farm, in East Mahoning township, Indiana County. He lived in Georgeville for a time. He was one of the educators in early times, teaching school several terms. He bought a farm in East Mahoning about 1832, from Richard Wolverton, and taught in the winter. He was Justice of the Peace for a number of years; was elected and served a term in the Legislature in 1840-41.
