General Notes: Husband - James Lewis


The Lewis homestead was surveyed in 1786, in pursuance of a warrant dated in 1786, issued to Samuel Findley. The patent bears the date of March 19, 1817, and was granted to Robert Findley for the heirs of Samuel Findley. James Lewis made the first improvement in 1815. He was an elder in the Presbyterian church for many years.
