He was born on the banks of French Creek in Franklin, Pennsylvania, the first white child born there. He always lived in Franklin, and died within a hundred feet of the place where he was born. He died at his residence after a long and painful illness. He was an authority on matters per-taining to early history. He was the father of a large family. [HVC 1879, 492]
