General Notes: Husband - Christopher Walthour

Casper Walthour was a native of Sweden, a farmer by occupation, and a pioneer of Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. In 1785 he erected a gristmill on Brush creek, near Manor Station, which was still used for milling purposes over one hundred years later, and was said to be the oldest gristmill in western Pennsylvania. Since its erection it was never out of the Walthour family, and had changed owners but twice in its first century. Casper was a large land-owner, and received the first title from the government for a tract in Allegheny County reaching from the Monongahela to the Allegheny river. He reared a large family.
