General Notes: Husband - Jacob Leighty

Of German descent, he came to Fayette County, Pennsylvania, from near Bradford, Pennsylvania. He was a farmer and an early settler of Fayette county, where he died. He was buried in the Leighty family cemetery on a farm later owned by the J. W. Rainey Company.

He came from east of the mountains during the revolutionary period and bought his land from an earlier settler named Stauffer; hence the land records do not give his name or the date of his coming.
