General Notes: Husband - Thomas Nixon


He was a native of New Jersey, and when a boy came with his mother to Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. Early in life he learned the blacksmith's trade, which he followed for some time, but later engaged in farming.

He was born in New Jersey and settled near Woodville, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, where he was a blacksmith and a farmer.


General Notes: Wife - Jane Lea


She was the first white child born in Chartiers Valley, Pennsylvania, and her tombstone is inscribed as follows: "Jane Lea Nixon, Born 1774, Died, September 3, 1859, Aged 85 Years. First White Child Born in the Chartiers Valley."
