General Notes: Husband - Isaac Taylor

He was born and reared in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. Upon reaching manhood he located at Turtle Creek, where he man-aged a hotel for many years, meanwhile acquiring valuable farm lands. Later he retired from the hotel business, and settled on one of his farms, where he spent the remainder of his years. [HWC 1906 ii, 238]

He and his wife, after their marriage, bought a farm of over two hundred acres in North Versailles township, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, then largely in a state of nature. He cleared and improved his purchase by the erection of a suitable building [in 1915 still standing] and by a careful tilling of the soil improving rather than decreasing its fertility. He cultivated the farm with the aid of his sons and retained its management until his death, aged eighty-one years. His wife survived him one year, her age at death seventy-one years. He was a man of quiet and retiring disposition, industrious and faithful to all his obligations. [GPHWP, 763]

With his second wife he had fourteen children; besides the children listed there were four who died in infancy.
