General Notes: Husband - Ephraim Pentland


A Pittsburgh lawyer, he was admitted to Beaver County courts, April 11, 1831. He was city recorder of Pittsburgh for a number of years, and resided there until his death.

He was a judge of Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, and editor of the first paper in that county.

He was prothonotary of Allegheny County from 1807 to 1821. He came to Pittsburgh in 1801 or 1802; he had been a printer and editor; he was a short, heavy-set man, very fond of jokes, and a noted character.
