Further survived by 9 grandchildren. Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main East, Girard, Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to services at the funeral home Saturday at 2 PM. Interment in Girard Cemetery.

Alton Lawrence, 73, of R.D. 1, Lake City, died at Doctor's Osteopathic Hospital Wednesday following an extended illness. He was born in Ripley, NY, on Oct 16, 1907, son of the late LaVern and Blanche Lawrence Prindle. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked at R.R. Leininger and Son Construction Co. Survivors include his widow, DeEtta Kreider Lawrence, two daughters, Mrs. Ted (Alma) Payne of Lake City, and Mrs. Randy (Joy) Ward of Girard; a son, David Lawrence of Lake City; and a brother, Ralph Lawrence of Erie. Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main East, Girard, today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m., and may attend a service there Saturday at 2 p.m.. Burial will be at Girard (PA) Cemetery.
