KNOX — George W. Klingler, a life­long resident of Knox RD 1 and an ardent sportsman, died at 8:15 am Tues­day in Bonnetti Convalescent Home in Harrisville. He was 89.
Mr. Klingler had been a patient in the convalescent home since May.
Born February 2, 1890, at the Klingler farm, Knox RD 1, he was a son of John H. and Elizabeth Exley Klingler.
He was a member of St. Paul Luther­an Church in Knox and a member of the glass bottle blowers association. Mr. Klingler was employed at Knox Glass Co., now the Glass Containers Corp., for 41 years. He was one of the original glass blowers at the company.
Mr. Klingler was also an extraordi­nary hunter and fisherman.
He was never married.
He is survived by a brother, Lloyd (Dave) Klingler of Knox; two nephews, Stanley Klingler of Knox RD 1, and Duane Klingler of Knox; two nieces, Mrs. Robert (Joan) Meier of Knox RD, and Mrs. Jack (Imogene) Buzard of Lamertine; and 12 great-nephews and nieces.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.
Friends will be received at the Roy P. Stuart Funeral Home in Knox from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm Wednesday. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Thursday in the funeral home with Rev. Dean Tyson, pastor of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Knox, officiating.
Interment will follow In St. Paul Union Cemetery.
