"FORWARD TOWNSHIP MAN ELECTROCUTED AT STANDARD PLANT"
"Lester C. Rape Found Dead by Worker Late Yesterday Afternoon."
Lester C. Rape, aged 42, of Forward Township, near Petersville, was electrocuted in the plant of the Standard Steel Car Company about 4:15 o'clock yesterday afternoon when a screwdriver came in contact with a live wire in a motor on which he was working. The wire carried 450 volts at the time of the accident. Efforts to re-vive him proved futile.
Rape was working on a motor which was located in the sand blast room of the plant. No one was with him, and an employee, entering the room, found him on the floor lifeless. He had been employed as an electrician at the Standard Steel Car Company's plant for the past 15 years.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Maggie Rape, seven children, Harold, Leah, Elmer, Marion, Eva, Ruth and Edwin; his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Rape of Forward township; a brother, Elmer Rape of Forward township, and five sisters, Mrs. Flora Zinkham of Evans City, Mrs. Lydia Schulte of Youngstown, Ohio, Mrs. Mamie McGill and Mrs. Fern Harter of Harmony and Mrs. Minta Risch of Renfrew.
He was a member of the English Lutheran church of Evans City.
Funeral services will be held from the family home in Forward township, near Petersville, at 2 o'clock, eastern standard time, Saturday afternoon, with Rev. C. W. Barnett, pastor of the English Lutheran church of Evans City, officiating. Internment will be in the Evans City cemetery.

It is believed that Leslie had a heart attack before his screwdriver hit the wire and died. The company he worked for said he was electrocuted so his widow would receive more life insurance money to raise their seven children. This information comes from Edwin Rape, Leslie's seventh child. It has been said heart problems run on this side of the family.
