General Notes: Husband - John Russell White

He was educated in the common and high schools in New Castle, Lawrence County, Pennsylvania. He was first employed by the Standard Car Works, with which he remained about two years, and then was with the Pennsylvania Railroad, in St. Louis, until 1908. On his return to his home he entered business with his father, then a successful operator of the funeral establishment which placed both in the fore as professional men in Lawrence County. He was a co-manager of this business and an active citizen of New Castle until his death, four years before his father passed away.
He was a Republican, and he was a member of Lodge of the Craft, No. 433, in New Castle, Free and Accepted Masons, in which order he held the thirty-second degree. He was also a member of the New Castle Lodge, Independent Order of Odd Fellows, of the Knights of Pythias, and the New Castle Kiwanis Club. He was a member of the First Christian Church, in New Castle, of which Mrs. White was also a member.

General Notes: Wife - Elizabeth J. Atkinson

On the death of her husband, she became associated with her father-in-law in the undertaking business, and on the latter's death, succeeding to the ownership, took over the management of the enterprise herself, and conducted it successfully thereafter.
