General Notes: Husband - Samuel Mumper

He grew to manhood on the home farm, attending the district and select schools in his youth. In 1866 he began farming on the old homestead, which he soon after purchased, and remodeled the dwelling and built a new barn, carriage house and other out-buildings, The place comprised 110 acres, all under cultivation.
He and his wife were members of the Dillsburg Lutheran Church, having joined about 1878.
Mr Mumper was a prosperous agriculturist, but also was largely engaged in extracting iron ore, etc. He spent all his life in the vicinity, with the exception of a trip, in 1866, to Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, and other parts of the country.
