He received his early education in the public schools of his native town; at North Washington Institute, from which he was graduated in 1910; then attended Grove City College, being graduated therefrom in 1915; and this was followed by attendance at the University of Pennsylvania, where he pursued his studies in dentistry, class of 1919. It was during this period that the First World War took place, and Dr. King served as a member of the Medical Reserve Corps, stationed at the University of Pennsylvania. On the completion of his studies and after receiving his honorable discharge, Dr. King returned to Sharon, Pennsylvania, where he began practicing.
Dr. King was a Republican in his politics, but did not seek office. Fraternally he was a member of Sharon Lodge, No. 668, Free and Accepted Masons, and he belonged to New Castle Consistory, in which he held the thirty-second degree, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite. He belonged to Zem Zem Temple, Ancient Arabic Order Nobles of the Mystic Shrine, of Erie. Dr. King was a member of the Lake Erie and the National Dental Associations; and his club was the Kiwanis. In his religious affiliation he was a member of the Presbyterian Church, of Sharon.
