General Notes: Husband - John Matthias

He was an umbrella maker of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and in the same year he was married removed to Centre County, where he taught school and worked in the Phillipsburg screw factory. In December, 1832, they removed to the toll gate at the Conemaugh bridge, and for eleven years Mr. Matthias was the toll gatherer. In 1842 he removed to the Blairsville side, having meanwhile become one of the editors and proprietors of the Blairsville Record.
He and his family were Swedenborgians, or New Church, in religious faith.

General Notes: Wife - Elizabeth Kensler

She was born on the "Neck," later a part of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
