On coming to America, he settled in Frenchtown, Crawford County, PA, being among the pioneers. He bought land and engaged in farming there for some years then sold out and moved to Deckard Run, where he bought a larger farm on which he lived until his death at the age of eighty-three years. He was very industrious and successful and acquired a competence.
