General Notes: Husband - Robert Kelly

He taught school for a time. He was commissioned, September 20, 1849, first lieutenant in the Tunnel Guards of the state militia, by Governor Johnston. He was the first teacher in School No. 9 (Tunnelton) in Conemaugh township. While still a young man he went to Indiana and Illinois in connection with the railroad development there; he corresponded with his people for some time, when all trace of him was then lost. It is supposed that he died in his early manhood.
