General Notes: Husband - Lewis E. Keller

His first school attendance was at Alverton, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, and he afterward attended Mount Pleasant Academy and studied one term at the State Normal School at Millersville. For fourteen years he was a teacher; of this time all but one term was spent in Westmoreland County, that one being spent in Fayette County. Most of his teaching work was in South Huntingdon township, Westmoreland County. For a few years after retiring from educational work he rented land; in the spring of 1888 he bought fifty-three acres in Upper Tyrone township, Fayette county, Pennsylvania, and lived there. He carried on general farming and dairying, and supplied Owensville with milk by wagons. He was a Democrat, served as assessor and township treasurer, and school director. Mr. and Mrs. Keller were members of the United Brethren church.
