General Notes: Husband - John "Jack" Keefer


He enlisted in the Air Force in the summer of 1943, after graduating from Parker High School. He was trained at the University of Akron, at Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and at Austin, Texas. He was sent overseas in January, 1945. He served as navigator in a C-47 transport plane that evacuated the wounded. He was killed in Southern France on Mar. 14, 1945, by the explosion of an anti-personnel bomb planted by the Germans in an abandoned airfield. He is buried in St. Andre Military Cemetery, St. Andre de L'Eure, France, near Paris.

A stone in memory of him and his brother Dick is placed in the Concord Cemetery, near West Freedom, Pennsylvania.
